Using a shared folder to collect event photos
A file-request link is the closest a general cloud tool gets to this, and it does work. What it does not do is behave like a photo tool: no live gallery, no captions, no way to see what arrived without opening a file manager.

When a shared folder is the better choice
If what you actually need is raw files in a folder - handing footage to an editor, collecting deliverables from suppliers, archiving something - use the folder. It is better at being a folder than anything designed around a gallery. It is also the right answer if you already pay for the storage and the event is small enough that presentation does not matter.
